As most fans look at the turnover saving play, let's not forget two things: X broke the ball loose and recovered it (take a note Holland that you need to finish the job;), but mostly the Dolphins ran out the clock and trusted Tua deep in our territory after the turnover to pass it.

Barry Jackson (Miami Herald) wrote:
(Flores) On how Miami successfully ran out the clock late: “It was good to see us finish the game with the ball. They knew we were going to run it, we knew we were going to run it and picked up a couple first downs. That’s always good. Myles [Gaskin], Malcolm [Brown], Salvon [Ahmed].. ran hard. We can block it better. We’re making those corrections now.”

If you at the replay of the hit Holland made, the ball was knocked out by Byron Jones.

I haven't seen a slomo of the play, so, if that is the case then maybe X is elevating Bryon Jones' game in that regard. Those two are good for each other.

Man….that was a sweet hit. Holland is looking solid. Maybe he can rush the passer too….cause we need that!

So, back to the title of this thread. Miami got the ball back deep in their own territory and ran out over three minutes of clock. I was surprised, it seems like most games we win the other team has the ball last and we need to survive some desperation last gasp after they have converted a couple of fourth downs along the way. This albeit ugly was quite refreshing.

Thank God for X man. He saved the game and was the reason the Phins had a chance to run out the clock at all, instead of Tua having to run around and throw Hail Mary passes in an effort to score at the end of the game. Yes, it was good to see them run out the clock convincingly. The turnover streak is becoming very impressive.

Maybe it's like music lyrics where more is read into the lyrics than was intended (so Mick Jagger has said). It looks like Tua is the one who has confidence in his abilities as he checked out of the designed run to throw a slant.

That slant was a thing of beauty. I'm glad they gave Tua the ability to check out of a play.

We had 19 QB pressures

And yet Jones (the rookie) still converted 3rd and longs. "eyes" don't lie, do they? You saw those plays, right? :haha

Actually for the most part he was facing third and short because the Patriots were running the ball early with decent success. Rarely was Mac Jones in 3rd and long situations.

I think Jones should give a game ball to our linebackers and buy them all a nice steak dinner. They made things easy over the middle.

Well that is good news. Great call on Tua’s part there.
