Whos ripping Henne?

I think he is doing fine.... Just like to see a few more of those passes like the opening snap today....

He is only 1/4 of it all, Henning needs to call it, WR needs to get open, line needs to protect, Henne needs to connect....

Has absolutely nothing to do with rose-colored glasses and everything to do with understanding the development of a QB instead of being a kneejerk fan...

Have a nice day.

And so the crap continues. Henne by no means is a Pro Bowl caliber guy yet, but give him credit, he isn't forcing anything. He put up two deep throws and both were on the money. Hartline was just tightly covered on the 2nd and it wouldn't have counted because of the penalties. He's doing exactly what he is asked, move the ball and don't turn it over.

His issue is consistency. He's not there yet because he is still early in his development. The guy has started all of 15 games and he sucks in people's eyes because he isnt putting up 250 yds and 2 td's per game.

How did forcing throws work out for Brett Favre?

Consider another factor. Miami's receivers aren't exactly getting wide open. Marshall is getting blanketed so what options does Henne have other than forcing passes.

Henne is doing just fine.

Henne did what he had to do. He didnt turn the ball over. Instead our great RB's put us in a hole. If they would have held on to the ball, Henne's numbers would have looked better, cuz they would of had to respect the run.

I still think we need to take it down field more, but Henne is doing fine. Henning is my beef. Henne is my love child.

You started the thread Rich... I guess everyone is supposed to come in and praise you for your findings?

Dan & Greg talked about it today, Henne is a well coached QB and it has been tattooed in his brain to take the sack, throw it out of bounds BUT DO NOT THROW THE INT.....

Good bad or indifferent, as long as we keep winning Im ok with it.... But I will stick with my opinion that the deep ball will open our offense up...

I'm starting to think it's more to do with Henning than Henne. I swear at some point he's going to have learn to trust Henne more against 9 man fronts. I so tired of seeing the Wildcat steal the offensive momentum

I will agree with gripes against the empty backfield passing sets when not 3rd down. The O-line is pretty good but still miss some blitz pick ups and Henne is still a little slow in some of his reads. Not sure why Henning is calling for those formations.

With Revis and Cromartie next week I would expect more of the same and a strong running attack with Jenkins out.

I agree that Henning, not Henne, is the problem. Not enough use of play action. 2nd and 20.....run up the middle, 3rd and a bundle after that...of course, fullback draw. Playing it close to the vest is fine....but the defense isn't going to score for you every week. We need more passing on first down, use play action....Also, once again, do the Dolphins have any idea how to run a screen pass? I also think the Wildcat has pretty much run its course.

Dan Henning is holding Henne back. Predictable playcalling for 2 years.

Henning's playbook is amazing. I don't think anyone can dispute that. It's only how he calls the game...

Analysts and coaches who have a ton more football knowledge than I do say that he has all the tools and can make all the throws.

Another point that has been thrown around lately is that it took Brees three years for the light to come on, and Henne hasn't even played a whole season yet.

I don't think any Dolphin fan is ready to call Henne a bust; he having a decent season 30/49 61% 1 TD 0 INT with 2 wins.

Good point, everybody tends to forget Brees was trapped behind Rivers in SD. I just wish we would open the offense more. Henne can make the throws, Henning needs to let him.

Brees was trapped behind Flutie, but don't say it took him 3 years as a QB to develop. He sat on the bench for most of those years.

To be completely fair, it seems like this changes from week to week conveniently. Last week is was all about Henne as well, and suddenly it's about Henning again.

I would love to see the offense open up more.

Regardless, we are 2-0.

I'm with many of you in that I think Henning can be very conservative at times with Henne and the offense. We drove the ball down the field and looked like an offensive juggernaut in the first series. Then we stopped running the Wildcat and decided to go very conservative and not take any shots down the field. Are we saving some tricks for the Jets and Patriots??? I sure hope so. When Henne is taking shots down the field to Marshall, and we're running the Wildcat formation, we look pretty good. When we run a simple dink and dunk offense, we look pretty mediocre. I think this offense needs a shot of adrenaline straight to the playbook. It starts with more run formations and more deep balls. Honestly, we should have won this football game 14-3 today. We were taking advantage of the Vikings every chance we got defensively, but we couldn't seem to hang on to the football to save our lives in the second half. We will need to do a better job of securing the football against the Jets if we are going to win that game.

Yes, that was the purpose of this post. It wasn't to show people what people who actually watch film think of Henne.

Man you got me all figured out. You're a sharp guy!

Incorrect. Brees started 16 games his second year and 11 games his third year.
