The big 900lb gorilla in the room is the Camarillo trade that will shadow Hartline until he proves he's a better guy. Right now, Henne really looks like he is missing his favorite target.

Hartline just couldn't get open. Even when Henne tried to get him involved, Hartline was well covered and couldn't come up with it.

Hartline is officially in a sophomore slump season.

One game and he's in a sophomore slump? They obviously couldn't take Marshall out of the game, so they took Hartline out of it. I wouldn't push the panic button just yet. If Hartline gets Bess open, great. If Marshall gets Hartline open, great. It's all about matchups and today didn't favor Hartline. On the other hand, Marshall is on pace for 148 receptions, and Bess is on pace for 96.

The Bills pass defense is their strength. I think as a whole the Pass offense needs more work.....

It goes back to the Pre Season. The guy has been dropping balls consistently all Off season and now season.

Not a good game to be sure....but he wasn't targeted much at all and the camera certainly didn't show us whether he was open or not on each play, so I don't know how you can say he wasn't getting open?? Henne had all day to throw and missed some huge pass plays downfield....that was alarming. I guess the coaching staff is beating it into his head not to force it, take what the defense gives you....but he seems to be carrying that a little too far. I remember two passes to Hartline. One thrown behind him....and the other thrown at his shoe laces.

Bess had a fabulous game today though....he was the reason we got that field goal of cushion that eventually was the game winner.....

Marshall is an absolute beast, so he is getting most of the action....if Henne ever figures out how to connect with him on those deep balls, then these games won't all be nail biters.

Because when he was, he dropped it. I wouldn't throw to him either.

There was one play where Hartline was wide open on a post and Henne didn't see him.

Looking at last year's stats, Hartline had a game where he caught no passes (Jets) and the most he caught was 4 (Patriots).

While he hasn't taken the next step forward, I think it is too early to say that he is in a slump.

i have an idea. Let's talk about something positive about the game instead of just seeking out tiny little issues in a sea of really great play.

But no, let's keep tearing apart our team.

Well, I'm positive that if Hartline doesn't play better against the Vikings and Camarillo plays well next week, that I will be even more concerned about our #2 WR.

Welcome to Phinfever. Home of infamous bridge jumpers and guys who will look at a 30 point victory and still want to highlight the dark spots.

Either way, there was a sea of good defensive play, not good offensive play. There were pockets of strong offensive play, but we never established anything over a period of time. We need consistency. There is much to build on here (when's the last time we could say that after game 1?).

If feeling important while being impotent does it for you, then enjoy.

You mean we're not suppose to post our opinions on this board....gee....thought that is what it was here for. I've got plenty of positive things to say about todays win and have already posted them. But when you trade away a guy who didn't drop a pass and now have one who has officially dropped 2 in the regular season including 1 first down, it bears watching throughout the season. Like I said before, Hartline only has to perform to shut up the chatter

You won't find me guilty of blatant homerism (most of the time anyways), but this is week 1. We have no idea what we have in our team right now. It's simply too early.

We played mostly well today. The score was much closer than the game. We were in full control from the opening kickoff. And yes, there were some things that need to improve if we're to get much done. But there is nothing that signals a bridge jumping is in order.

Nor will I be guilty of homerism. I realize we have issues, but I also see the positives as well. Sounds like we're on the same page there.

We've had a rough time opening day the past few years, and this was a pretty difficult game for some reason (more than it should have been). So that's improvement in my eyes.

There are a lot of positives, some negatives and lessons there, and now it's time to bring on the Vikes.

We have a team once again that likes to give us heart problems, but we'll see in the next few weeks if they can roll with the best.

It was a bad game, but he did not get many opportunities and he will make his catches this year and contribute.
