Hmm... Would have rather seen Henne's name on offense....

Oh well....

Patrick Cobbs? That is a very interesting choice. He must have displayed some significant leadership this past off season.

Teammates called him the MVP of the team last summer...

Little surprised though. YB and Dansby were obvious choices, but I thought Chad would win one of those. Or one of the other backs. Good list though.

Last summer as in the summer of 2009? Or this past summer of 2010?

Sorry. 2009. I remember a bunch of interviews and players being asked about how Coach loves Cobbs and everybody saying that him and Pennington were the MVP's of that team.

Exactly what I was thinking.
I would have liked to see them show a vote of confidence in Henne and name him the offensive captain. I understand that Long is a serious leader on that offensive line, but if Henne is to succeed he will need to be the unrivaled leader of our offense. Hopefully he'll earn it by playing well this season and the players will give it to him next season.

I wasn't really surprised Henne wasn't voted, but I expected Ricky of Cobbs. But Cobbs is a solid veteran who from what we can tell his teammates like. I like all the captains, personally, and think they'll be good ones.

Perhaps they want Henne to earn the role of captain. Dansby, Bell and Long have proven it on the field in their careers. I guess Cobbs may have as a special teamer and vocal guy. I refuse to define this season as make or break for Henne like some of our esteemed colleagues have done, but this could very well be another test for the guy we are putting our faith in.
