Post David Martin signs with Bills
Lmfao...this is ridiculous.

http://twitter.com/KLV760/status/23085930289

Something is up after all these moves...either A) They have thrown in the towel on the season. B) Monkey's have taken over the front office phone line and kept all Dolphin executives hostage. C) They are setting up for a big time move.

i want to have faith in the FO, but im with you on this one. I think monkeys have everyone hostage. If we do make another big time move, it should be done by monday right?? i mean they need to start preparing for the Bills. I mean I didnt see much of nalbone, I know he is faster than our TE's but still seemed like he needed some seasoning.

Miami is simply rolling the dice on vet players they signed late. Its a guaranteed money issue. If these players are on the roster for Wk. 1 they get their salary the rest of the season. Martin will probably be cut by the Bills after Wk. 1. They simply want some info from him on Miami.

I'd be highly surprised if Martin is not back in Miami by the end of Sept.

2010 was a terrible season. The Dolphins went 5-11, Henne showed no growth, Marshall only had 40 catches.

The end must be near.

I doubt it. This practice happens all of the time, and I would wager that it has virtually no impact on the game. Even if they know every play, they still need guys to go and stop it. The Bills don't have that kind of roster.

I agree it is David Martin. But he has shown more than gosh darn Nalboner.

Should probably be in another thread, but with only two tight ends right now I'd love for Miami to trade for Greg Olson. I know its never going to happen, but he would be a great receiving option in two tight end sets and has much better hands and speed than Fasano. Problem is his blocking, so I'm not sure he is out there for anything other than passing downs.

(On how tough it was to let go of David Martin)– “Yeah, it was really tough, really tough. So, (You know) in the last - in that. I told the team yesterday, I said look, I don’t expect anybody really - you certainly - nobody needs to feel sorry for me in this situation, that’s part of my job. But it wasn’t a good day yet it was a good day in that once the decisions were made, we were able to move on and really get a good look at this 53-man squad right now and you have excitement and enthusiasm about what lies ahead with this 53-man squad right now. (I mean) I like the makeup of it. But those decisions when you’re making them, they’re hard decisions, (I mean) they really are because (you know) you know these people personally and in one way or the other they’ve done something for you. And I’m not naïve enough to know that David Martin isn’t a guy that’s done something for me since I’ve been here and I appreciate that.”

Honestly, what has Marting done in his career? I don't know too much about Nalbone, but I'm guessing he can play special teams better than Martin. We act like we just cut Shannon SHarpe in his prime, relax guys.

The thing is that Martin right now is FAR superior to Nalbone. Nalbone is a complete project who needed another year or two on the practice squad. Even if Martin wasn't the 2008 David Martin the guy still had game and complimented Fasano really well.

The thing that gets to people is that the best formation this offense had was the 2-TE set. They could block, protect and throw out of it efficiently. With Martin gone, they now don't have that and with the way Lousaka Polite has regressed in the off season and the offensive line's struggles, you wonder how they'll be able to pick up yards consistently on the ground and set up the play action.

I for one have thrown in the towel on blaming players on this team.

All future failure lie solely on the FO... This is year 3, I need to see improvement, specially towards the end of the season.

If they cant hit on a unit I have to think they just cant get it together...

THey don't? They have Nablone to run two TE sets and Nablone can play special teams. How has Polite regressed? We haven't even seen him yet. Less than a week and we'll see!

Polite has been awful in the Pre Season. He's whiffed on more blocks than he's made it seems.

Nalbone doesn't have the versatility or the blocking ability that Martin had. The thing that made the formation work is that you had 2 guys who could block and 2 guys who were athletic enough (especially Martin) to make plays in the passing game. Nalbone is a mediocre at best blocker and still drops too many passes and is raw in his route running from what I've been reading. He's still a huge project.

The Bills desperately needed a TE. Shawn Nelson is suspended because he is an idiot. Derek Schouman is hurt and got waived.

Martin is the Bills best TE right now (yes, its true). I doubt he will be gone at all this year, as they only have two TEs on the roster right now (Jonathan Stupar is starting and he could not block my mother).

I was pretty happy with the signing. I think he (Martin) was the best TE available.

No. He is a lane clearing FB who also goes out and gets that yard on 4 and 1.

It seems like someone is putting WAY too much stock in to preseason performance. Polite is likely the best blocking FB in the league.
