Bradshaw singled out players like Miami Dolphins defensive end Kendall Langford, who spent an hour after a recent practice not taking part in additional workouts, but instead looking for a $50,000 earring that he lost during practice.

"I hope they never find it -- $50,000?" Bradshaw said. "Go tell that to somebody that can't pay for his kid's education or can't get them into a hospital room and get them treated properly. Here is a guy wearing a $50,000 earring to practice. I hope they stomped on it and I hope he never found it."

Bradshaw singled out several other players and topics, as well:

it's his money. He can buy a $5K earring if he wants to.i get tired of people telling others how to spend their money.

What Bradshaw is: an idiot. Always was. Always will be.
What Bradshaw isn't: He was never a good QB.

I just wish he would be an idiot on his own and we never had to hear from him.

Bradshaw is old school so this is how he thinks. I kinda tend to agree however. Also while watching those steel curtain teams (yes I am showing age here) while I wont sy Bradshaw was among the elite he was a very good QB. Yes he had the weapons but you dont win 4 rings by just being average. Remember he also called his own plays back then.
Dave , I agree with the "its their money let them spend it how they want" but I think what rubs people the wrong way is the arrogance of these guys that goes along with the money. Especially in these times .... showing a little appreciation for what you have would be nice. Just my opinion.

What the heck does Langford's earring have to do with someone not being able to get into a hospital? Get a life Terry...just because you unfairly got into the Hall of Fame does not mean you get to ridicule everyone.

We're all allowed our opinions. I happen to think that Bradshaw is quite possibly the most overrated player of all time. He gets credit because he was the QB on a team with a great coach, a great RB and a top rated D. His job was to hand the ball off and not throw too many INT's. And he wasn't all that great about the INT's part.

Go and read the whole article. You'll agree with him more often than not. He makes some great points.

And you know what? He tells it like it is. I like that.

It is pretty ridiculous to be looking around on the field for a 50K earring.

I don't think its ridiculous to be looking for the earring, I know I'd tear the field up looking for it, thats a year salary for me. But it is ridiculous to be wearing a 50k earring during practice in the first place.

I agree with Terry. Did you ever miss work to find something that you lost? I didn't think so...Langford is an idiot for wearing the stupid thing during practice. I made a ponit regarding Revis wanting more than 100mil, come on. There are people that have lost their jobs and this guy wants more than 100mil to play a sport? When are the fans going to wake up. I'm all about the free market, but it just doesn't sit right with me.

When you pay $50K for an earring that you wear to practice, it just shows you that he doesn't know the value of a dollar and will probably be broke a few years after his career is over. Still, he paid for it with the money that he earned. It's his private business. Just don't come crying to me or the NFL when he needs a pension to pay for the surgeries when he'll need due to playing the game of football.

But he didn't miss work. He did it during a break between practice and a meeting. He stopped to go to the meeting.

If I lost something of value, I would look for it too. but I do agree, if it is valuable, he shouldn't have been wearing it to practice.

From a quick google search:

"Langford and his teammates did have to give up their search for the lost earring due to a team meeting"

It's sad that the longest threads the past few weeks have been about a piece of jewelry and trading our #4 WR.

It's his money to do with what he pleases, but he is an 1diot for buying a 50k ring and then wearing it to practice. $50k is even a lot of money for him, it's not like he is Jason Taylor or Jared Allen, having made millions over their careers. That 50k is a good portion of his contract money. Stupid if you ask me.

Agree with you Phin, but at least he's being talked about for losing an earring, not getting arrested.

That's a "good" problem to have, no?
