Thoughts? I have to admit that the late Tony and I had a big disagreement over Jacoby Brissett when he entered the draft. I saw Brissett play for 2 years here at NC State and I wasn't as excited about his NFL future as Tony was. I did like his toughness as my Pack did not have a good OL while he was with us. I never saw that special quality in Brissett that I saw in Russell Wilson or Phillip Rivers. Of course there is a reason as both Wilson and Rivers are headed to the HOF.

I don't hate it. He's still young with room to grow. In his first full season starting, he was definitely a "caretaker" type QB.

NCSU fan what I remember from him is he has plenty of arm but was not great at reads and could at times become a statue in the pocket.

I've read this rumor from multiple sources over the last couple weeks.

I like the idea of having a professional, game managing, stop-gap QB at $2M for next year...but what's the cost? I'm sure if it happens it'll be for much more than any of us wants to see the Dolphins pay.

Tannehill will definitely bring less back in a trade than Brissette will cost to get.

Well the staff knows him but its just a change not really an upgrade.
Confident this staff can coach him up.

I don't care for the idea of trading for a stop gap QB. Might as well just play the young QBs we have.

I highly doubt Miami is trading for a QB. They'll make trades, but it will be their own guys to get as many assets as possible for next year.

Philip Rivers, Russell Wilson, and Mike Glennon were developed in our system as they were all our recruits. Alabama could have had Rivers, but they wanted him to play CB.

We brought in Jacoby Brissett (Florida) and Ryan Finley (Boise St) after they could not win the starting job at their Universities. We turned them into first round draft talk. I'm interested to see who is starting for us this year. It should be interesting.

No, why trade any capital away for something we don't plan on playing. Personally, I think we either keep Tannehill unless we get a 3rd rounder for him. And only get free agents. Don't waste draft picks on short term solutions.

If we tank, then we tank.

Hey, Welcome back, Iceberg! It's been a while.

And, I wouldn't trade a draft pick for Brissett, either. With Luck's injury history, I'm not sure if I would trade him anyways if I were the Colts.

The Dolphins could always kick the tires on Kaepernick for free now that his lawsuit is settled.

Stranger things have happened.

Ross would have Grier sign Kaep just for the publicity it would generate. All eyes would be on Miami and Kaep next year, despite how bad a team they are.

There are many things wrong with Kaepernick and I'll list a few:
* he hasn't played in 2 years, and he was inconsistent when he did play
* he is too much of a distraction.
* he wore a Fidel Castro shirt in support of Castro. South Florida fans will LOVE that.

He isn't even an option.

Trust me, I'm totally against the idea. It just wouldn't surprise me at this point.

I'm fully on board with the plan to play Jake Rudock for the year and go Tua-14 and get the first pick next year.

But, there are a lot of new decision makers in play looking to make their mark.

I think we're looking at multiple "HUH?" type moves going forward.

I've started learning meditation techniques to be able to withstand it.

Never. Going to happen. From a PR perspective the situation would be a nightmare. Loosely similar to the “Tebow Circus”. Mediocre players with a constant media sideshow tagging along. The last thing this new regime wants is the biggest distraction in the game to be added to the roster...for what?

Winning the Super Bowl AND being the worst W/L team in the NFL are both not easy to do. I don’t believe the team is actively and willingly gameplanning to “tank” next season.

They are just rebuilding. Big difference. They may naturally get there, I doubt it, who knows, but I guarantee they won’t be out there trying to lose games. The only team in history I can think of that I believe genuinely attempted to and successfully pulled that off were the Suck for Luck Colts.

It was the perfect storm for them though. Manning was already out for the entire season and the most hyped and praised QB coming out of the draft in my lifetime was just waiting for them if they were bad enough. They had nothing to lose.

I agree with this completely. I don't think they'll be using any band aids to get slightly better aka a trade for Brissett. They'll want to evaluate the young talent they currently have and see how they perform under the spotlight.

Its not likely they win more than 2 or 3 games with either Jake Rudock or Luke Falk at QB, but I can't see Flores not trying like heck to get 110% out of everyone.

I'm not sure its all about Tua either. Miami was heavily scouting Herbert for this draft. I get the feeling they'd be very happy with either.
