Even though the Patriots have Brady, a Patriot draft strategy has been to draft a quarterback in rounds 2-4. Belicheat would tell you that it was not a waste of a draft pick to do so. This should make EVERYONE happy as it's been a frustrating practice of the Fins to not do so.

Since taking Tom Brady with the 199th pick of the 2000 draft, the Patriots have selected eight quarterbacks. New England has made five quarterback selections between the second and fourth rounds: Jacoby Brissett (third), Jimmy Garoppolo (second), Ryan Mallett (third), Kevin O’Connell (third) and Rohan Davey (fourth).
Brissett and Garoppolo were traded but provided quality insurance for Brady. The Patriots also hit on Matt Cassel in the seventh round. And only because he’s a celebrity and now coaches the Cardinals, we’ll mention they once drafted Kliff Kingsbury in the sixth.
Since selecting Ryan Tannehill in 2012, the Dolphins have drafted one quarterback, Brandon Doughty in the seventh round. That is irresponsible and an absolute joke.
