Post Five key areas to watch for Saturday night
Quote:
Reserve quarterbacks Tyler Thigpen and Pat White: They both have the opportunity to make a statement about their worth to the team; each is likely to play more than a quarter. Thigpen is by far the more polished quarterback, but he has been throwing a lot of interceptions in practice.

Free safety Chris Clemons: Coach Tony Sparano said late this week that Clemons - the replacement for Gibril Wilson, who was cut in the off-season -had made only one mental mistake in more than 400 plays in practice. At this point last year there already were mounting concerns about Wilson. If Clemon remains solid and doesn't get beat over the top, it will say a lot about the strong potential for Miami's young secondary.

Outside linebackers Koa Misi and Cameron Wake: When the front office decided Joey Porter and Jason Taylor were expendable, the pressure shifted to a group of young, unproven outside linebackers. Misi and Wake have emerged from the pack and, while the Bucs won't game-plan against them, it's a sure bet their coverage skills will be tested.

Miami's young starters: From second-year corners Vontae Davis and Sean Smith to rookie guard John Jerry and defensive end Jared Odrick, the Dolphins this season will be seeking veteran-like performances from a long list of players with limited NFL track records.

The fifth receiver: The quartet of Brandon Marshall, Brian Hartline, Davone Bess and Greg Camarillo are set. Patrick Turner has the edge for the fifth wideout job, but Roberto Wallace, Marlon Moore, Ryan Grice-Mullen and Julius Pruitt have all had their moments in camp. All are trying to earn a roster spot.

a few other things I will also be watching for will be the play at Nickel Back and who takes on that role, the consistancy at TE through the game, the play at NT position thru the game, and the interior of the OL throughout the game. I will probably end up recording and watching the game a few times over.......kinda sad really since this is only the first preseason game....
