Post Sparano revealed his quarterback plan for Saturday’s game
Looking forward to seeing Henne for a bit and the Oline that is set for Preseason game 1....I'm also wanting to see Thigpen....And of course I'm really interested in the D....

Quote:
– Sparano revealed his quarterback plan for Saturday’s game: Chad Henne will play about a quarter, Tyler Thigpen will play “a good amount” and Pat White will also take snaps. Chad Pennington, recovering from shoulder surgery, will not play.

Good, he'll play more than I thought he would. What did Romo play the other other day, one series?

Not for nothing, I think Henne needs the reps.

A whole quarter? Dumb. Henne played close to a full season...he's got the reps. He needs 10-15 plays, then get him out of there. The first game is to weed out the back end of the roster. Games 2 and 3 are for reps of the starters.

true, but we need heene-to-marshall to be up and rolling WAY before week 2 at minny..... so one quarter in preseason game one is good for me..... weed out the back of the roster after, but we need that duo to be connecting in live action as soon as possible, and as much as possible

Conditioning isn't top notch by week 1 of preseason...injuries are extreme high risk in week 1 because it's the very first live action of the season...what's it matter if it's week 1 or week 2 that they are connecting? Only one thing, and that's injury risk.

Why risk it? Dumb.

They'll have plenty of time together in preseason game 3.

If Henne is in sync and hooking up with the WR's and TEand finding the RB's for check downs in the first two drives he will be out after that..

If they struggle and there are mis ques he will stay...

Need to get as much film as possible to study so they can critique where the problems are.. Leaving him in for 10 - 15 plays is pointless, might as well not even play them.

they have 45 minutes to weed out the rest...

You have an entire season last year of film to "critique where the problems are." Not to mention all the practices and three more preseason games.

I am glad to hear that! My Dad and I are going down for the game. Best seats we have ever had, three rows up from the field on about the 45 yard line!

Henne wasn't on the team last year?

I guess I thought that's who we were talking about...since it's a thread on the quarterback's playing time.

Yes but he is playing behind a new center, timing is critical, as well as a TE and WR he has never played with...

Hartline has moved from 3rd or 4th on the WR list to 2nd as well... While they are familliar, its still things to think about....

I would think he needs as much time as possible to get the timings down in a real game situation...

But thats just me...

Again, Henne needs the reps.

Henne's never played in a game with David Martin.

I agree with most people in this thread, Henne needs a quarter this game. He's had only 13 games of reps last season and 0 with his new WR, a, yes, new TE, and Hartline in a more prominent role. He needs some work.

I don't mind Henne getting more minutes than is usually expected for a starter for their 1st preseason game.....as long as the bookend OT's are out there with him.

I just don't want to see any injuries during pre season. We've had enough to contend with the past several years without worrying about that.
