-- CB Will Allen and RB Patrick Cobbs, who are both recovering from ACL injuries, are sitting out today's practice.
-- It appears Dolphins WR Brandon Marshall is sitting out Thursday's lone practice, likely a rest issue.
-- Tony Sparano said he won't experiment with moving Joe Berger or Jake Grove to guards UNTIL they settle in on who starts.
-- Sparano predicts Nolan Carroll will have a heavy special team role in exhibition season and needs to do well to lock down a gameday spot.
-- Sparano said the ball finds rookie CB Nolan Carroll. "He's physical" but he lacks some fundamental work. "He needs a ton more reps."
-- Tony Sparano said Tim Dobbins brings position flexibility, is physical and has gotten better at pass coverage stuff.
-- Sparano confirmed that the team will scrimmage on Saturday. Monday night they will scrimmage just 40 plays.
-- On resigning Evan Oglesby. "If you can have corners you want them."
-- Sparano said he's been "pleasantly surprised" by Ike Alama-Francis' transition and points out he's very smart.
-- Sparano said Randy Starks approach to this training camp has been very focused. Says he needs to take over as a leader in the D-line room.
-- From a productivity standpoint, getting pass rushing out of the nose is a "perk" Sparano says, pointing out Randy Starks is an upgrade.
-- The center battle will come down to "who is the most physical at the position" according to Tony Sparano. He needs a stout player.
-- Sparano said he needs to see his O-linemen win the individual one-on-one battles and he's not seeing it right now.
-- Sparano said last season he rotated interior guys because the dividing line between their talent level wasn't great.
-- Sparano said this is the best group of receivers depth wise he's had. Gonna be important for Pat Turner to perform well in games. Sparano said he needs to see consistency from Turner. As season went on "Pat got better & better" in practice Playing with confidence.
-- Early on in the process he coaches want to see other guys like Taurus Johnson and the crew do returns, not Patrick Cobbs.
