Pennington wants an opportunity to start somewhere
Any teams looking for a 1 year band aid while their young QB gets groomed for the job should take a serious look at Pennington. Until he loses his mental faculties, he can always over-compensate for a noodle arm. Omar Kelly wrote: QB Chad Pennington: He's already won the NFL's comeback award twice, and hopes he'll be given the opportunity to win it a third time. Because the 10-year veteran is coming off his third shoulder injury he won't be given many opportunities to start, but that's what he's seeking. http://www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/miam ... 9163.story

Re: Pennington wants an opportunity to start somewhere
I would like for Pennington to return to the Phins,....But watching the small bit of Thigpen and watching Henne for most of the season. We might already have our 1 and 2 set.

Personally I wouldn't want to stunt Henne's growth for another year so we can satisfy Pennington's urge to play. I think we found our guy in Henne, let's give him full control and let him grow. If penny wants to stick around as a mentor/backup, I'm all for it, but if he wants to play, let him go so he can have his chance.

He's a free agent now, so we don't have any control over him finding another team. I'm sure he would love to stay in Miami, but Tony won't guarantee him the #1 spot.
