The Alabama pipeline has been good for some time, and Minkah Fitzpatrick is no exception. He is playing at an extremely high level, ranking second among rookie cornerbacks with a 56.2 passer rating allowed in coverage. However, second-round tight end Mike Gesicki has had a rough start to his career, particularly in pass blocking, in which he has surrendered six quarterback pressures, tied for second most among tight ends; Gesicki has yet to become a legitimate factor in the Dolphins' 29th-ranked pass attack.
The rookie production on the other side of the ball, however, makes up for the lack of it on the offensive end. Third-round selection Jerome Baker has burst onto the scene, and he is only getting better as the season progresses. Since Week 8, the former Ohio State Buckeye has graded above 70.0 in every game, and his 76.9 cumulative overall grade trails only two other rookie linebackers. Fitzpatrick and Baker have combined for about 60 percent of the Dolphins' offensive and defensive rookie snaps, and their futures appear quite bright.
