The Dolphins auditioned former Broncos quarterback Paxton Lynch on Wednesday, but a source said it was merely due diligence as opposed to trying to fill an immediate need.

Lynch, drafted 26th overall in the 2016 Draft, was released in September after two disappointing seasons with the Broncos. In two seasons with Denver, he played in five games and started four, threw for 792 yards with four touchdowns and four interceptions and a 76.7 passer rating.

A lot of people like Lynch as a prospect but everyone knew he would take a while to develop. Kind of a quirky guy from what I understand. Game hasn't slowed down for him so why not just stick with Fales?

Lynch should have been on the same development plan as Tannehill as a rookie. Sit, sit, sit and continue developing. Worked wonders for Aaron Rodgers.

An update on how Lynch performed. With the quarterbacks on a bye, they probably used him to try out WR Brice Butler whom they signed last week.

Last week the team brought free agent Paxton Lynch, a 2016 first round draft pick of Denver, to camp for a tryout. He threw to a handful of receivers the team was also trying out.

Lynch was not good, per sources familiar with his performance. So he is not currently on the radar as a possibility for Miami down the road.
