Where do you think the Dolphins will be come week 17 record wise, and are they ready to emerge as an elite team in the afc?

Gil Brandt, NFL.com
Nico, I think the Dolphins will be in first place in the AFC East come Week 17. They have done a lot to help their team, they have a young QB in Chad Henne who is getting better every week.

The key will be how Ronnie Brown recovers from his knee injury and whether he can stay healthy. Henne must cut down on his interceptions. If he does, he will be very good.

So much for the Jets being the team du jour in Brandt's mind. So much for the Pats defending their division title. Brandt thinks the Dolphins will go third to first in the division.

I asked Gil on that chat thing (since he's the draft guru and all) what he thought of Ricky Stanzi's shot of being drafted would be. (I personally think he sucks, but I wanted to see what he had to say.)
He responded with "Ricky probably won't go in the first round, he's a very tall left handed quarterback that can get the job done."

Ricky isn't left handed. He got the tall thing right, though, at 6'4"

So all in all, I don't buy anything Brandt says.
