Asiata has changed his entire routine – he arrives earlier every morning, he maintains his body better by doing things such as getting in the hot tub and stretching, he does extra film study, does extra work in drills, and he’s more attentive to his assignments and technique.
“You’ve got to have the discipline to be able to do that every single day,” Asiata said, “and I’m trying hard to do that every day.”

You’ve got to grow up ...

I'm rooting for him, mostly because I really liked him coming out of college and hate being wrong lol.

A lot of analysts were high on him, but I wonder if that was because our guard situation was so bad. He was a 5th round draft pick, so, usually means that he is just training camp fodder if we go by Miami's previous draft picks at guard. People really do like his size, and it sounds like he is putting in the work to challenge the starters.

I am rooting for him, too. These 5th rounders are the kinds of picks that we need to hit on more often if we are going to rebuild in a hurry. We need inexpensive talent, and that doesn't come at the top of the draft or in free agency. Of course, I'd probably settle for just hitting on our 1st and 2nd rounders, given our poor drafting over the past 10 years.

No bueno in our 2nd preseason game.

G Isaac Asiata: The second-year lineman, who couldn’t sniff the field as a rookie, was called for holding, nullifying a 33-yard run by Buddy Howell. Compounded things with another holding penalty, this time in the red zone. After wasting the Xavien Howard interception, the Dolphins netted minus-2 yards on Maurice Smith’s INT, which gave Miami a silver-platter opportunity on the Carolina 12.
