The Dolphins granted him his 5th option and PFF ranked him as the 10th-best offensive tackle last season and 5th-best pass blocker. In my eyes, he sure didn't play as well as PFF says, and in fact, the Dolphins took a long time and field trade offers before giving him that option. They aren't sold on James, but we would have taken a big step backwards without him this year. My guess is that we go a cheaper route in 2019 and grab a RT in the draft .... unless he "wows" us early and we give him an extension.

Among the discussions, the Dolphins stressed the need for James to be more consistent. James got the message as he worked this spring with new line coach Jeremiah Washburn.http://dailydolphin.blog.palmbeachpost. ... uan-james/
“Just using my technique every time,” he said. “That’s the hardest part, just doing the same thing, every time. No matter who you’re going against. Silent count. Whatever it is.”
