ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that it's a 1-year deal. The financial terms are not yet known.

The 34-year-old (will turn 35 on May 14) is latching on with his third NFL team in his 14th NFL season.

Gore, who played for the University of Miami, was a third round pick for the San Francisco 49ers in the 2005 NFL draft, and earned five Pro Bowl nods during his time on the left coast. He spent the past three seasons playing for the Indianapolis Colts, proving to be a reliable and ageless wonder.

...

But Gore has proved to be an ironman on the field, not missing a single game in the past seven years. Playing behind shaky offensive lines, his yards per carry dwindled in Indianapolis, and his three seasons there are the only ones of his career where he failed to average at least 4.1 yards per carry. ...

Gore has always said that he wanted to end his career by coming back home to Miami, and now that desire has come through. The Dolphins will likely draft a rookie running back as well to complement Gore and Kenyan Drake.

The Dolphins have signed tailback Frank Gore to a one-year contract ... When his signing becomes official he’ll be added to a backfield that features Senorise Perry, who is entering his fourth season in the NFL. Last season Perry gained 30 rushing yards on eight carries and caught one pass for 3 yards. ...

Yep, but I'll take an old Gore over Damien Williams. Still need to draft a RB though.

That's right! I love Gore, he plays, even today, with a reckless abandon, and he will be an asset on this team, for the same reason Amendola and Sitton and those boys are now here and the overpaid baggage the team was carrying, like Pouncey, Suh, etc., are gone.

In reading Hyde, he mentions that Damien Williams and Drake both had bad work habits, so this is a running theme with this roster, and I'm sure there's more there to clean up. But all in due time. Fins are working on fixing the malaise that has clearly permeated this lockeroom and huddle...they weren't going to win with the so-called talent folks are clamoring they lost, I mean, they hadn't won with them so let's try something else...you know, the meaning of insanity?

Anyway, these 30somethings will be gone in a couple of years but in the meantime they will welcome the new, young talent that will come through the draft (we can hope they fix that too), teach them the way things are done, and if we hit on a few of them that will be the talent to win going forward.

I like it.

Gore hasnt missed a game in 7 seasons and still pushes for 1k in each one.

Oh yeah, and he is one of us Dolphins fans, so he is more than welcome to join the backfield.. Drake is a different style of RB anyway so they should be good for rotation and change of pace

Gore is an upgrade over Damien Williams, so, I am ok signing the 35 year old running back. He never misses a game, runs hard like it is his last play, survived a worst OL in Indianapolis, and is a good pass blocker/reciever.

Need to draft a RB still.

Another Cane in the backfield. You won’t hear any complaining from me.

He made 3.5 mil last year I would expect it to be less than that.

Great player, but all used up. Mentor I suppose, but this team will be rebuilt before he mentors anyone.

He had over 900 yards last year behind an even crappier o-line. I agree with you mentor comment. He's always seemed like a good, hard working dude.
