Henne, Veterans Eager For Start Of OTAs
Two months of hard work inside the weight room tends to get monotonous, so starting tomorrow with the first set of OTAs at the Miami Dolphins’ training facility in Davie the veterans will have some spice added to their regimen.
Miami’s group of rookies and eligible first-year players got their chance to don their helmets and participate in actual football drills two weeks ago during rookie mini-camp. Of course they were only going against each other and not a full squad of experienced NFL players, and now those veterans are eager to get back into the football mindset – none more than third-year quarterback Chad Henne.
“Now instead of running routes on air you get to actually face the defense and really see if what we implemented in our offense will work,” said Henne, who was designated as the starting quarterback by Head Coach Tony Sparano back in March. “So this is trial and error here and we’re just getting back into the competition.”
Henne has been quite busy during this offseason starting his own charitable foundation back in his hometown of Reading, Pennsylvania and planning his July wedding. But he has also made a number of community appearances on behalf of the Miami Dolphins Foundation and gotten in his fair share of golf at different charity events.
