Post Thoughts from Miami Dolphins’ first scrimmage
August 7th, 2010 by Mike Berardino

Brandon Marshall admitted he was “disappointed” with his performance in his first scrimmage as a Miami Dolphin.

Tony Sparano sounded and looked noticeably down as he discussed a 74-snap experiment in which the defense dominated from the beginning.

Sean Smith, however, was clearly upbeat as he recounted his pass breakup on a go-route designed to get Marshall going on the first play the No. 1 offense ran on Saturday afternoon.

“If he would have caught that, the fans would have been going crazy,” Smith said.

Instead, Smith batted the ball away and shook his head — no, no, no — as Marshall climbed back to his feet.

Hey, it’s just one scrimmage, but for those hoping this reconfigured Dolphins offense would be unstoppable, well, Mike Nolan’s defense had something for ‘em on this day.

love to hear that about the defense. shows Smith hasn't been taking it to heart when he has been getting smoked by Marshall in practice and camp.

the offense will get it clicking. just hope the defense can play strong from the get go.
