Post NFL Head Coach Power Rankings
Quote:
25) Joe Philbin, Miami Dolphins

You feel like the Dolphins are close, and that Philbin might be building something ... but then you also can make a case that the club will finish last in the AFC East. In his first two seasons at the helm, Philbin won 15 games, which is not a bad number, considering where this football team was upon his arrival. The Bullygate fiasco really needs to go away, though. Mike Pouncey could help on that end by wising up a bit.

I think I must hang around this site a little too much. I had a dream last night that Philben just disappeared and the Don came back to rescue our Dolphins. It was a strange dream to see Shula being driven around on his golf cart. I don't even want to tell you who his quarterback was (let's just say that after that season we would be wishing for Philben/Tannehill).

:haha

He's doing what is perfectly natural...

What he's thinking about doing..., now there's the real question.

While the ranking is 100% merited....

Is Jason Garrett really a better coach..... I believe he has done LESS.... with a better roster on paper..... over a longer period of time.... I would put Joe above Garrett..

Mike McCoy in San Diego got into the playoffs on a merit of tie-breaker..... against our team that beat his.... no hard feelings but he is definitely ON PAR with JOE... not 6 positions higher

I can see Rex being ranked higher.... he made an 8-8 record happen with FAR less than we had to work with so sure..... but not 9 positions higher...

Lovie Smith at 14???? Hes a first year head coach on a team that hasnt proven anything... Is he getting the high ranking for bring his team to the super bowl nearly a decade ago?

I think 1-10 are right on the money, but the whole 10-mid 20s is suspect.... the bottom of the list are all the "newer/new" head coaches and I get it.... but that whole middle section is subject.

Jeff Fisher at 12? What have you done for us lately? last time they matter was a 2008 campaign going 14-2 on CJ2k's legs... both of those thoughts.... are after thoughts..

Ron Rivera could be alot higher after what he did with Carolina last year... WOW..

I can Joe Philbin as high as 20, no higher.... I also do not see him as low as 25... I would say 22/23 should be a fair mark for him.... 2 year head coach, sniff playoffs in both seasons, building a young team, handicapped by a GM that gave him nothing to work with.... BLAH.

I just find it funny. This is 100% a popularity contest... and Joe isnt the most socially sound of the whole.

I agree with most of that sky high. Philben did a pretty good job after a 4 game lose streak and through the bully stuff. Miami had a playoff spot with two weeks to go so considrring all the distractions he shouldnt be behind some of those guys.
Oh well this year will tell us if philben or tannehill is the guy unfortunately for us fans we brace for the wprst haha
