Dolphins Exercise Mike Pouncey’s Fifth-Year Optionhttp://www.miamidolphins.com/news/press ... a657203e13
The Miami Dolphins have exercised the fifth-year option on center Mike Pouncey’s rookie contract. The Pro Bowl center is now under contract through the 2015 season.
The 15th overall selection in the 2011 NFL Draft, Pouncey has started all 46 games that he has played in his career. He was named to the 2014 NFL Pro Bowl team and became the first Dolphins center selected to the Pro Bowl since Tim Ruddy in 2000. Pouncey became the fourth Dolphins center selected to the NFL’s annual all star game in team history, joining Ruddy and Hall of Famers Jim Langer (1973-78) and Dwight Stephenson (1983-87).
It's believed to be worth $7.4 million. The move comes even as Pouncey awaits word on a potential suspension for his role in the "Bullygate" scandal. The No. 15 overall pick of the 2011 draft, Pouncey has started 46-of-48 games since entering the league, and emerged as a top-flight center. He remains a candidate for a long-term extension. http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/6478/mike-pouncey
