This from Rotoworld.com. I would like this signing for Miami. A veteran OG that still is playing at a high level. Dolphins needs some veteran leadership on this team.

Free agent OG Travelle Wharton is interested in playing for the Dolphins.
The Dolphins want to look at younger options first. Wharton, 33 in May, is our No. 1 free-agent guard available. Miami signed Shelley Smith to man one of the guard spots, and second-year G/T Dallas Thomas is currently penciled in opposite him. Wharton proved in 2013 that he still has gas in the tank.

Dallas Thomas couldn't even get on the field despite all of our OL problems. I have big questions about him myself.

He can get it together his 2nd season but honestly do you really think he wont get at least heavy competition all through camp and going into the season?

Yea, why the heck not? You're absolutely right. A Vet on the O-line would be worth his weight

If the dude wants to actually play here then bring him in!

I find it uninteresting that Wharton is interested.

Good Lord....... :haha

Travelle Wharton, 32, who allowed no sacks last season and was rated Pro Football Focus’ fifth-best guard, has interest in Miami, and the Dolphins told his agent that he possibly will be considered only after Miami considers younger options

This guy is a good player and we will need at least one proven veteran in the mix at guard.

One way or another I would feel better with another starting veteran on the line.

They are still a ways away from solidifying the o-line. HOPEFULLY, they draft smart and get the guys to plug in from day one plus add depth.

Drafting guards that fit this scheme actually isn't hard. Drafting rts are easier the lts and with a guy like Wharton he can ease the rt along very easily so this is a plus move if we get him no doubt

we should sign Wharton or Wade Smith for a year or 2. Can't find long term solutions at every position.

All RT needs is 1.5 seconds next year and you will see a remarkable difference. Bring him in.

Wade Smith?? The Wade Smith that Wanny drafted to be a left tackle and the end result was Dwight Freeny having Brian Griesr for lunch??? Are you kidding me???

Wade Smith had some good years recently. I think PFF graded him down a bit last year, but his line coach is with Miami now and fills a cheap need.

I'd prefer Wharton, but Miami needs some starters on the line. Rookies and reserves put you right back into the cloud of uncertainty.

I couldn't agree with you more Jammer. Miami should OVERKILL bringing in a few veterans AND draft smart for offensive lineman, then let the best immediate man win the job in camp. If it is a rookie then great, if not, the veteran is ready to go, plus if a man goes down or struggles, they need to have a bench full of options.

Sorry, I don't care how good he is. I don't want him back. I'd hate to see another Tony Martin fiasco

Thomas appeared in six games in 2013. Not all rookies are ready to start right away, especially when they're asked to change positions. Cut the guy a little slack. You never know, he might win a starting job this season if he has a good offseason.
