I do enjoy it, but will take it with some skepticism as it happened last year too.

Actually, the buzz last year was how Miami was overspending in free agency and making stupid moves out of desperation...

Exactly......Miami was getting RIPPED last year in regards to the money and deals they were signing.

I'm happy so far. But we need at least one more OL via FA and a CB

Goes both ways every year, some make positive evaluations, others do not... Either way let me know when the bus is tuned up and ready to go, I'll climb right in with you guys...

That said, it's always fun to look at who the early "winners" in free agency are, so here it goes (Click here for the biggest losers on Day 1):

Miami Dolphins: Jeff Ireland is facing a critical season in 2013 and made the first major splash of the new league, reaching a five-year deal with wide receiver Mike Wallace that Jeff Darlington of NFL.com reports is worth $60 million. With a 17.2-yard per catch average and 32 touchdowns in his career, Wallace adds a dynamic presence to the Dolphins' receiving corps, who combined for just three touchdowns in 2012. In addition to Wallace, the Dolphins got younger at linebacker, signing Dannell Ellerbe and Phillip Wheeler to contracts totaling $61 million and parting ways with over-30 veterans Karlos Dansby and Kevin Burnett. The Dolphins also kept promising safety Chris Clemons to a one-year deal.

Maybe not all were positive, but many were....

Let's take a look at who did well to make big moves and who made some more questionable decisions.

Winners

Miami Dolphins

Miami made the biggest splash on the first day of free agency, and it was a pretty smart move from their perspective. Ryan Tannehill is a developing quarterback, but his top receiver in his rookie season was Brian Hartline -- not exactly a marquee name. Adding an elite wideout in Mike Wallace changes that. They also added Dannell Ellerbe, who showed his worth while winning the Super Bowl with the Ravens this past season, and made a deal to hang on to Chris Clemons.

Or maybe Rotoworld did it so often that it seemed like everyone was doing it.

Sad to say it appears they were right as far as our moves at linebacker. Wheeler was a total flop and Ellerbe was a disappointment.

I think Mike Wallace was worth the money as far as opening up the field for other players (see the seasons that Hartline, Clay, Gibson/Matthews had).

And of course the steal of free agency was Brent Grimes.

Its great for us IMO, considering all the bad crap we have had to deal with recently.

There were plenty of negative opinions about us last year as well. I try to stay positive tho, so I focus on the good reports... Thats why I remembered last year..

I like the moves going on now, hoping for a few more names added and that Philbin is finally getting "his guys". And in hindsight we still got Albert without giving up a pick, which I believe was the reason it did not happen last year.. They tried to pin it on the GM vs HC debate, but IMO whoever decided against it then helped us long term...

Ellerbe and Wheeler were sought after FA's. We got younger and cheaper, and on paper as far as the PFF's these guys were just as good the year before..

Coaching and systems matter just like talent.

Pretty much why I remain skeptical...

I might be in the minority here ..... but I stopped getting nutty about free agency a long time ago.
