Post Jimmy Johnson Sees Growth In Tannehill
Quote:
...“I’ve been impressed with Tannehill. I think he’s very athletic, and you know we’ve got to realize that he hasn’t been playing quarterback for a long period of time,” said Johnson. ...

“So much of the success of a quarterback depends on his supporting cast,” said Johnson. “I think one of the problems with Tannehill, is that he’s had a little bit of a problem with the offensive line and the protection. But I think Tannehill has shown that he can be an outstanding quarterback in this league.”

I really agree, and I think like most of our offense the last two years the coaching has handcuffed him by not getting him in motion more often.

I hope Lazor is more loose with his developing, and doesnt feel he needs to be developed into a pocket passer..

You have to have a pocket to be a pocket passer.

:fart:

One thing that I haven't seen Tannehill do is step into the pocket, and that's because if there is one it isn't there for long.

We don't need to draft a QB high like some here think. I'm fine with a project like Wyoming QB Brett Smith in round 5.

Yeah then Parcells, and now whenever we are at the point of change, Cowher and Gruden are top names floated around...

Retired people should stay retired IMO...

Top Ten Reasons why JJ doesn't mean squat to me:

10. Promising a Super Bowl and not even delivering an AFC Championship appearance

9. Going just 37-35 in his four seasons with the team

8. Depriving Marino of his ability to audible.

7. Stomping all over Shula's legacy

6. Daryl Gardner over Ray Lewis

5. Yatil Green over Corey Dillon

4. John Avery over Randy Moss

3. Moving Keith Byars then cutting him in favor of Stanley Pritchett and Jerris McFailure

2. Demoting, then cutting Keith Sims

1. Bringing in Wannschlep to replace him

I would love of either of those two to assist with our team. They could definitely improve the team whether it be coach or a management position.

Nice post, but if "progression" is only scoring 7 points in eight quarters of play and losing 2 games in a row to teams you should have beat tells me something is wrong. I hope Tannehill gets better, but if he wasn't winning big in his early years of playing in High School and College, I seriously doubt he will as a Pro.

Those 2 losses told me a lot about Tannehill.

Those two loses are troubling but they are not the whole of last year and I think he has made progress.
