Every year I lose confidence in Ross. In fact, I wrote about Ross in my blog over a week ago as I talked abut Huizenga and then Ross.
Is Stephen Ross Any Better?Like Huizenga before him, Stephen Ross opened up his wallet trying to get the Dolphins to the Super Bowl. He made some un-fanlike decsions showing that he really didn't understand his fans or any fan in the NFL. The Club Suites, selling minority team shares to celebritie, courting Jim Harbough while he still had a coach (ruining the friendship of Ireland and Sparano in the process), and having Tebow-day when our Dolphins faced the Tebow-led Denver Broncos in Miami ... ouch! We do want to get on board with our owner, but he has made it difficult.

What we want is a winning team, and we want to do it with class.
The NFL and Dolphin fans are scratching our heads wondering what is going to come of this new search for a GM. We do not like his choice in Joe Philben as head coach, and we did not like Philben's decisions to hire Mike Sherman as his OC and change the Dolphins from a 3-4 to a 4-3 defense. It has shown on the field why this was a bad decision. Most of us wanted him to clear the slate and just start over. But he likes Philben and believes in him.
Ross has created a triangle power structure under himself with Dawn Aponte as his money person, Joe Philben as his head coach, and a GM in charge of talent evaluation and personnel. Most of the quality GMs will want absolute power over the head coach and VP, but they will not get it in Miami. And on top of that, he is getting advice from his buddy Carl Peterson whom most Dolphins fans despise.
Hmmm ...
This should all be interesting, and the future of the Dolphins depends on it. I have no idea who our next GM will be, and I really don't have the confidence to say that Ross will make the right decision. I am hopeful .... I have to be. I'm a Dolphins fan and this is my team. Owners and coaches come and go, but fans stick with their team through the hard times.
