Post PFF's 2013 Offensive Line Rankings
Now, this is very interesting. It's a bit of a head scratcher because I saw every game this year and saw our running backs constantly being hit behind the line of scrimmage and Tannehill having to deliver the ball quickly due to the lack of time that he had to throw the ball. I am not saying that Tannehill cannot improve things by reading through his progressions a little faster, getting a better feel of the pressure, and learning to step up in the pocket. The only teams that I saw that I felt were worst than the Dolphins were the Giants and Jets.

19. Miami Dolphins (23rd)
PB: 14th, RB: 27th, PEN: 11th

Stud: He wasn’t as good as last year but Mike Pouncey (+7.1) has established himself as the kind of center this team will be able to count on for the long term.

Dud: Despite only playing 292 snaps, Sam Brenner (-9.5) looked overmatched wherever the team lined him up.

Analysis: A turbulent year as Jonathan Martin and Richie Incognito and their off-the-field issues caused the kind of spotlight to fall on the team that nobody wanted to see. Much was made of the sacks taken by Ryan Tannehill; they were somewhat simplistically used as a means to lament the play of the line in pass protection, but it wasn’t anywhere near as bad with the line producing a Pass Blocking Efficiency ranking right around the middle of the pack. A lot of questions to answer and while it seems a little patchwork at the moment, they’ll be striving for a settled lineup next year. ... ankings/2/

Teams worst than the Dolphins:
20. Kansas City Chiefs (12th)
21. Houston Texans (10th)
22. Tennessee Titans (14th)
23. Chicago Bears (30th)
24. Indianapolis Colts (31st)
25. New York Jets (3rd)
26. Seattle Seahawks (20th)
27. Oakland Raiders (24th)
28. Baltimore Ravens (17th)
29. New York Giants (11th)
30. Jacksonville Jaguars (29th)
31. Atlanta Falcons (15th)
32. Arizona Cardinals (32nd)

Someone should tell Pete Carroll about the new pass happy NFL that is taking over.. Seems he didnt get the memo...

Crazy that they have a worse line that ours, they gave up quite a few sacks (44) but still less that us, and were ranked 26th passing (Mia 20th), and still have one of the best run games in the league...

Think its time to look at that FA list and see who we can bring in to run the ball... Obviously there is more to it than just the o-line play...

Then again, could just be Carroll is a much much better coach than Philbin could ever wish to be...

Caveat: These are the opinions of this user, and may differ from your opinion. Please use common sense before taking offense.

You've got to take statistical data with a grain of salt. If I'm reading this right, the O-line ranked 19th this year and 23rd last year............does anyone believe our O-line improved this year?
