My neighbors next door are whooping it up for their Seahawks. Their team is winning, the home stadium noise is awesome and the elements are cramping the Saints' passing style.

I wonder what that feels like? I remember 1985, but that was some time ago....

Had we gotten in we would have rolled over any team in these playoffs.
OK , that was sarcasm ... but I agree with you. It seems this time of year our post season happiness is when the Jets do not make the playoffs & our super bowl is when the Patriots get eliminated from the playoffs. 1985 , I remember that as well but sometimes I wish I did not. We have become pretty pathetic & a joke on & off the field since then.

I have to agree.

I remember a time when the saints and seahawks were both jokes too though. Maybe the Dolphins will turn it around soon.

I wonder if Wilson would have turned out as well if he went to another team. Does Carroll get any credit? What would the Dolphins have done with Wilson?

The 49ers look good too. Imagine if Marcus Lattimore shows up for them next year!

Hopefully the broncos win the Superbowl and Manning retires and becomes the Dolphins OC next year. He is practically an OC already.

Rodney , I have been having that thought in the back of my mind all season.

Anthony it seems like such a simple formula. When we first met years ago I think this was our first conversation. For as complex as the NFL is , it is driven by QB's. WE hold on to the Trent Dilfer argument as Dolphin fans but I am not sure you will ever see another defense like that , especially in Miami.

Correct Mitch. There have been 3 defenses that carried their team....Ravens, Bears, and Bucs. There has been constant teams winning with QBs. Let's look at coaching for a min. Shanahan's record is night and day with and without Elway. A sexy pick every year is Cowher. He was consistant with making the playoffs but he never won a SB until he draft his franchise QB that made plays. Gruden is another flavor of the year every year and when did he ever develop a QB? He resurrected Gannon, but he never developed a young guy, he always wanted a vet. He won a SB with a top 3 defense of all time IMO.

I totally agree with coaching makes a difference, but without a QB, it's a moot point. Hell, I just want a coach that doesn't give away what we are running....or passing for that matter.

must be nice to have a run game like that, but I'm sure Brady will get all the credit for the win anyway.

Jamie Collins is a 2nd rd pick and he is balling tonight. Sack, pass disruptions and a pick dropping back in coverage. Meanwhile, we trade up for Jordan who did nothing except have fans make excuses for him...injured, raw, young, too skinny. Sure Dion flashed, but darn it's annoying watching rookies in the playoffs and ours didn't play.

Marques Coleston is going to be asked, "Why didn't you just step out?" over and over and over again.

Dumb. We can also say that M. Lynch is dumb too. He should declared himself down and run the clock. Kick field goal, two possession game and that's that. He almost cost the Hawks the game.

Man....Blount gets 4 TD's tonight. We could have had him for the league minimum, but our team is always looking for "character" guys, rather than talented players. Marshall was sent packing for the same reason....and that sure turned out well, didn't it?

Blount would have also needed a good offensive line in front of him.

Miami has too Mak, they just don't have an overall good team with a competent coach.

Notice how Wilson and Brady won riding the ground games and good balance. I saw Wilson make some bad throws and reads, happens to all the good QBs. But he uses his mobility to buy time or keep drives alive and that is what Tannehill needs to lean on more.

In a weird way it is probably good Miami is not in the playoffs so we aren't buying into the fa├žade of a successful Philbin/Sherman. I'd be excited at the possibility of Kyle Shanahan coming in to run the offense (like his Houston days), and to have a GM who recognizes the need for a complete running back. Heck even a GM who recognizes the need for a fullback too.

I agree 100%. The problem is that a QB can make a decent coach look great. Our prob is def lack of coaching. I can't get over the GOGO, GO snap count. I am so disgusted with it. I hear Brady changing up everything and you don't know if they are running throwing or even hiking the ball.

Billichek took advantage of a weak Colts run defense and game planned for it.

Love for Miami to be the Pats. How sweet it must be to know every yr your team will have a chance at the SB, not just the playoffs.

My exact thoughts.....you can hate the Pats, call out cheating whatever you want to say, but this is a great coached team that is in the playoffs every year. Heck the one year they missed they were 11-5 AND with a back up QB at the time!!

It still would have been a long shot, but you're right.............that was an incredibly stupid play. I'll give Marques the benefit of the doubt..........it may have been a called play.

I still remember wanting us to draft Kaepernick in the 2nd round when he came out. Always thought he could be what Vince Young was suppose to be. And the dude is clutch. Wish our team was built more like the Niners.

the teams that are leaving points on the field early are losing these games. (missed field goals, goal line stands).

Love Denver's cadence that is drawing San Diego "D" off-sides. What a difference from the fins approach.

Keenan Allen was a steal for the Chargers in the 3rd round.........initially he was predicted to go in the first round........I remember he was brought up by a few on the forum as our potential first round pick. Not sure what happened, but the Chargers have themselves a great receiver for little cost.

Denver would have rolled us today. Imagine our OL and cadence vs that DL. Our D would have been gassed and given up 42 points.

No way was Miami ready for the playoffs. These teams are playing hard. Minus the colts and the Chargers who Miami beat.

Tom Brady | NE
(January 19, 2014 6:05 PM EST)
Tom Brady completed 24-of-38 passes for 277 yards and a touchdown, and rushed for a second score as New England fell to Denver 26-16 in Sunday's AFC Championship game.
Brady blew a huge first-quarter vertical strike opportunity on a bad overthrow for Julian Edelman, who got wide open on a slot route that developed deep down the left sideline. The Pats tried to attack Denver's defense with a pass-happy approach, for which OC Josh McDaniels and Bill Belichick may receive hindsight criticism this week after all of LeGarrette Blount and Stevan Ridley's recent success. This loss was squarely on Tom Terrific's shoulders, as Brady blew yet another shot-play chance at the end of the first half, missing an open Austin Collie so badly the ball fell incomplete out of bounds. Brady's lone passing touchdown of the 2013-2014 playoffs wound up going to Edelman to "narrow" the deficit to 23-10 in the fourth quarter. Although Brady's depleted supporting cast deserves blame, his accuracy beyond ten yards has declined noticeably and significantly the past two seasons. Now going on age 37, Brady will be a lower-end QB1 in 2014 fantasy leagues.

Yeah, yeah Brady is no Tannehill. And now that we are Lazor powered NE should be put on notice that their run is over. But it feels good that we as Dolphin fans just won our super bowl now that the Patriots have been eliminated.

They were talking about how bad Brady has been in the playoffs the past 5 or so years on ESPN the other day. Manning has had much better ratings in playoff games. It's a team sport. As much heat as Peyton takes, look what happened when he finally had the better team today.
