Trading down easier said than done for Miami Dolphins
Quote: As it stands now, Miami has just two top-100 picks this week in a draft some believe to be the deepest in memory.
But teams aren’t expected to part with draft picks easily, especially this year.
“Everybody is looking to trade down,” NFL Network draft analyst Mike Mayock said.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter offered some hope Monday for the Dolphins.
Schefter reported the Packers, who hold the No. 23 pick, and Eagles (No. 24) have expressed interest in trading up to 10 to 12 range Thursday night.
Jacksonville could be competition since a report surface last week the Jags were shopping the No. 10 pick.
To move from the teens to No. 12, a team would have to forfeit its second-round pick. But to move from the 20s to No. 12 would require a second- and fourth-round pick, one scout said, based on the draft-pick value chart.
“I don’t know if there’s going to be teams that want to do it with this deep of a draft,” the scout said.

Eagles would be a decent option if they give us their 2nd round pick. I think they want Earl Thomas. & that would give us better options

There is talk that the Dolphins have spoken with two teams in the last 48 hours about trading down.

How would everybody feel if we were to trade our #12 for a 2nd this year and a pick next year (possibly a 2nd)?

Re: Trading down easier said than done for Miami Dolphins
100% but if the Phins are looking at two trading partners as Mando suggests on Tweeter it kind of forces the Pats to think about what they are going to do with their bag full of seconds - they may have to sell earlier to move up to get their player if they were indeed thinking this - I think they move up this year - generally they move down... Now they may need to get into the top ten - should be costly
