I saw this on twitter, don't have the link but it's legit. He's had quite a few desperation interceptions this season. Only issues I have with him is pocket awareness, and taking off when he sees an open lane. That last point was one of the reasons we lost against TB.

Well, take away the Nick Foles 16 TDs no INTs as a partial year starter, and Peytons ridiculously record breaking season, its been a down year for QBs....

Brees is doing alright.... not his typical massive yardage year
Brady's numbers are way down!
Rodgers is hurt, and theyve been running the ball
Matt Ryan is non existent
Flacco is turnover prone this year
Eli has been garbage
Kaepernick is not the answer this year, his magic is deflating a bit
Cutler has been out
Big Ben is fizzling

the typical top names are in a down year.... it is not the year of the QB, so by comparison, yea Tannehill doesnt look all that bad this year. But this is more a nod to the competition, rather than to praise him as elite. There is only 1 elite QB this year, and its Peyton

Romo and Stafford are having top 5 QB years, that pretty much says it all, and add in Foles' numbers, it looks like a completely different world from 2012

I think RT has enough skill to build around. They can start by putting a solid OL in front of him.

That's where it all has to start. Only OT I see returning next season is Pouncey, possibly McKinnie.

McKinnie = Clabo ... they're both poor pass protectors.

Tannehill just needs to be more consistent and make big boy throws earlier in the game. He needs to also use his legs to make plays. Still can't figure out why he doesn't do that.

He definitely has the ability to be a top 10 QB and has proven he can handle crunch time situations.

lets just hope he can stay healthy long enough to play behind a good o-line...

1-2 more loses and I swear I'd start tossing in the backups....

While I don't totally understand PFF's evaluation process, they seem to put a whole lot of work into their stats and it seems legit.

Tannehill is not Dan Marino, but I wonder how Dan the Man would have done behind this offensive line. He did not like to get hit.

He's actually tied for 5th in the pass category. Imagine him with a legit RB and a decent OL.

If Tannehill makes a good read and throws a good pass and it is dropped, they give him credit for it. If he throws a pick because the receiver should have caught it but tipped it in the air and it was picked, he still gets credit for a good throw. That's part of their evaluation and I consider it more accurate than QB rating or QBR.

QB rating pulls stats together and turns them into a number, but it doesn't take into account context. So a QB makes a tremendous throw into the endzone and the receiver lets it go through his hands and it gets picked. The QB rating goes down. But it isn't really the QB's fault.

What PFF's ranking tells me is that Tannehill is doing a pretty good job, but his surrounding cast is letting him down with poor pass protection, dropped passes, etc.

Part of being a successful QB is just not making mistakes. RT has that down for the most part. Where he needs a lot of work is his feel for pressure and finding his dump off valve before taking a sack. There are times when he just braces for impact rather than taking the hit and delivering the ball.

Its unfortunate the coaching staff is giving Schiano a run for the 32nd spot

Except Schiano is improving and his team is still playing for him. Right now, Philbin owns the worst coaching staff in the league.

The Chargers present an ideal matchup for Tannehill because they lack pass rushers to expose his expansion-level pass protection and can't cover in the back end. LCB Shareece Wright has been a disastrous first-year starter and free-agent flop RCB Derek Cox is now getting benched on a weekly basis. I don't think it's crazy to consider Tannehill as a FanDuel start or QB1 streamer. He won't get a weaker defense the rest of the way.
